One of the main symbols of Nowruz is malt. It is impossible to imagine Nowruz without semal. Malt is a symbol of abundance.
 

But how to germinate malt at home?
 

First, wash and clean the wheat well. Remove dirty or damaged grains. Put the washed wheat in a bowl and add water. Soak in water for 8-12 hours. Remove the water-soaked wheat from the water and place a few layers of damp paper towels or some soil under the plate. Arrange the wheat on a plate and cover it with another damp napkin. Keep the plate in a sunny place and water it every day to keep it moist. During the week, wheat will sprout and green shoots will appear.
